Barcelona is a city of Anthony Gaudi, the famous architect of 19-20th century. Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia, that carries the cultural legacy of the past. The exciting history of centuries is reflected in every stone of its streets and squares. The European Dog-show 2004 was luckily hosted by one of these Spanish squares in a beautiful exhibition complex in the center of Barcelona on June 4-6.
Big rings, and high ceilings - all this helped to feel comfortable and enjoy the Show despite of the very hot day outside. 58 dogs were registered. It is a very small amount for the Dog-show of this level. 50 of them were shown. I registered my dog too, but in the last minute I decided not to take him with me due to a long flight with a connection and extremely hot weather.
There were a lot of European kennels among the participants. All of them showed good results. Though this Show was a real triumph for Von Glandorf kennel (owner - Pongracz Eleonora, Hungary). Their dogs were the best that day. One more time: congratulations Nora! Her success is a big honor for me too because her dog who became a Champion of Europe is a granddaughter of my male Twin Lakes Gregor! Russia was represented by only one dog that unfortunately was not lucky that day. Ilona Onsteck-Schenk from Holland was judging very attentively, accurately and very kindly. She is considered to be a very experienced breed expert.
